FAQ's for the 2021 Ceremony

As this is the first time that we have held a Drive in event we have received a number of questions from guests, please see below the FAQ’s. If you have a query not covered by the below please do not hesitate to get in contact ceri@mwmg.org, 01686 628778

Where do we park?

On arrival at NPTC Newtown campus marshals will direct you to a parking space, social distancing has been allocated between vehicles. Guests have been allocated a specific number of car parking permits. You should display your permit which has an allocated car parking space printed prior to arrival.

Can I park somewhere and join my allocated car slot?

Yes there is additional parking available (without view of the screen) this is located at the side and the back of the college.

Can I leave my car overnight ?

Cars may be left overnight but at your own risk. The gates for the car park will be locked by midday on Saturday 9th October so please ensure your vehicle is collected by this time. It is an offence being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst being over the permitted drink limit.

I am a vegetarian will I be catered for?

Any special dietary requirements can be met however please ensure you contact the organisers to advise of any allergies or dietary requirements in advance by emailing requirements to info@mwmg.org

Will there be toilets?

Yes luxury portable toilets will be located in the car park area and accessible toilets in the college foyer. Will there be a bar?

Yes there will be a limited bar serving bottled beer, wine, prosecco and soft drinks. A small number of gazebos will be outside. Card payments preferred.

How do we hear what is going on?

Each car will be given a Bluetooth speakers which will be setup prior to your arrival, so all you need to do is turn them on. Instructions go up on the screen to show you how to do this. Stage speakers will also be used.

Do we have to stay in our cars?

Guests do not have to stay in their vehicles, guests can bring camping chairs and blankets and sit outside their vehicles if they wish. If you are announced as a winner on the night please come up to the stage to collect your award and have your photograph taken.

What should I wear?

Please think about the autumn weather but also that a photographer will be on hand and publicity photographs are taken of the winners so dress smartly but warmly!

Do we need to tell you about what car type we are in?

If your car is particularly tall e.g van, please do let us know so it doesn’t block the view of others.

Can we keep the car running?

All vehicles should be off for the duration of the event, remember it may get cold so dress suitably or bring blankets.

What will we be eating ?

Your two course meal will be served in cardboard containers and will consist of Freshly Baked Bread, Butternut Squash and Pearl Barley Salad, Ottolenghi’s Spiced Chickpea with Fresh Vegetable Salad, Vinaigrette Coleslaw, Honey Roast Gammon, Pulled Beef Pie.

The vegetarian alternative is Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Tart with Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto. (PRE-ORDER by 30th SEPT)

Trio of dessert - Chocolate Brownie, Fresh Cream Profiterole, Plum Frangipane Tart

What time does the event start/ finish?

Please arrive for 7pm, the event is scheduled to end at 10.30pm, 11pm at the latest.
