Multi talented Host Announced for Business Awards Evening

The host for this years Powys Business Awards has been announced as Lisa Angharad, Lisa has been a TV presenter since 2011 starting her career co-hosting a comedy sketch show on the national TV channel S4C.

After three series of ‘Ddoe am Ddeg’(Yesterday at ten) Lisa went on to present her own tabloid based light entertainment show ‘Perffaith Hapus’ (perfectly happy) where she researched the Zeitgeist of today’s society.

Lisa’s latest project was a reality based light entertainment show called ‘Y dyn ei hun’ (The man himself). This 6 hour episode series featured Lisa venturing in to stereotypically male based work places, such as the fishing industry, firefighting and the life of a Sewer worker in London.

As a presenter Lisa has also worked in the food industry, interviewing michelin starred chefs and she has also worked on radio, presenting a food programme called ‘Blas’ (Taste) where she travelled Wales doing varied items on all food related things.

In 2014 Lisa and her sisters started an acapella folk trio called 'Sorela' who will be providing the entertainment at the awards evening which this year.  Sorela sing a bilingual, eclectic mix of traditional Welsh folk tunes, 90's pop hits, 50's classics and original works all in acapella with the exception of a few cheeky ukulele chords!

The 2021 awards are being held at NPTC/ Hafren Car Park in Newtown as a drive in event.  A 10m cinema screen and outdoor stage is being erected in the car park and guests will be served a 2 course menu in their parked vehicles.

Ceri Stephens, Group Manager for the event organisers Mid Wales Manufacturing Group said “The awards evening this year will be very different, we committed to holding the awards back in March and we embraced the opportunity to put on an innovative event in the region”

There will be 10 awards decided on the night, 8 category winners, the Judges special award and the coveted Powys Business of the Year Award.

The Powys Business Awards celebrate excellence and brings recognition in the local and regional business communities. There is a wide breadth of sectors represented and sizes of companies from across Powys. I’m delighted that Powys County Council continues to support them.
